PRESS RELEASE
Sacramento, CA-January 16, 2026-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Greetings to All and Wishes for a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
Let me begin this letter to you by offering my sincere thanks to each and every one of you for your
good thoughts, many prayers, and all of the love sent my way during one of the most difficult times
of my life. What I’m learning is that grief is not to be ignored, dismissed, or covered up with other
“things” but rather recognized, honored, and enveloped in your life. It is to be embraced and held
sacred as you did with your loved one that walked this walk with you for a while.
I want to begin by thanking my family, both near and far, for the love and concern and support
offered by every one of you – even before I hit what seemed like the bottom of my life.
To the Chamber’s staff and the consultants with whom we work tirelessly, I offer super thanks to you
all for holding the fort down and keeping the Chamber humming as it always has. had no fear that
the work needed would be addressed wholly and competently. You did not disappoint.
Lastly, to our Chamber and Foundation boards, it was a herculean task you took on with such short
notice. It has been very apparent to me that what needed to be done was prioritized and the work
completed punctually and professionally.
As we move forward, we look forward to celebrating with you on February 21st at the SAFE Credit
Union Convention Center. It is shaping up to be an extraordinary evening as we celebrate our 40th
anniversary during Black History Month! This year’s theme is “Harlem Nights,” and we are excited
to step back in time for what is sure to be a spectacular event. You won’t want to miss out, and since
tables and tickets are going fast, we encourage you to call or email us right away to claim your spot.
You will see more details about this celebration as the days go by, including the introduction of our
new Young Leadership Collaborative—who are ready and eager to take on the task of
entrepreneurship—and the installation of our 2026 boards. The evening will also feature a variety of
vendors for you to visit. We know you won’t want to be left out of this milestone anniversary, so
please reach out today for more information!
Our Calendar of Events will be published shortly, and you will know where we are, who we’re
collaborating with throughout 2026, what we’re offering you for a better business, and asking for
your input on other subjects you think may be substantive and support your business and others as
you continue to grow.
As I have for the last 18 years, I so look forward to working with you in whatever capacity you need to
promote your business and workforce.
